Eden Munro of Vue Weekly recently conducted an interview with MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow.
On touring:
"I've been on the road for the last year and it's going great. There's a lot of people out here, and with people come relationships and relationships are hard to maintain, unless you're a complete phony and then you can pretend you like somebody and really hate their guts. But I'm the kind of person, if I don't like you, it's hard for me not to say something."
On the interconnections between the different groups that make up the music community that MEGADETH is a part of:
"We've always tried to be classy, because the relationship we've always had with you — the press — and them — the audience — we've always really recognized that without the three of us we would not exist. I know that there's a lot of [journalists] that... |

Guitarist/vocalist Dave Gorsuch of the long-running San Francisco Bay Area death metallers INSANITY has issued the following update:
"It's been a rough year losing our second original member and longtime friend drummer Bud Mills [drums] to an illness. After Murderfest in March of 2007, the band was more inspired and sounding better than ever. We had many West Coast shows set up we had to cancel and we were three-quarters of the way ready to re-record the second album but everything came to a halt with Bud's diagnosis. Now that some time had passed, we've decided to get things going again.
"Bassist Chris Tanti (whose backing vocals can be heard on the 'Visions of Apocalypse' tracks as well as the 'From the Grave' release) and I are now auditioning drummers and looking for a second guitar to complete the band and get ready for future shows and tours.
"I'd like to thank some of the most devoted fans and some of my best friends (two of which... |
